Where to eat vegan in Barcelona

Spain is not a meat and fish country anymore, and Barcelona is the perfect Spanish destination for vegans. The number of vegan restaurants in Barcelona is only growing, and even "normal" restaurants often offer vegan friendly options.

I've been vegetarian (no-meat, no-fish) since 2010 so I've been a witness of the transformation of the veggie scene in town. I love to play with vegan options in my diet, but I don't feel ready to fully shift and quit eggs, dairy and other animal products.

I have no problem staying vegetarian when I'm out and about giving tours. Yes, even when I'm on a tapas tour with non-vegetarian guests! And I'm always happy to make recommendations when I have vegan guests.

I already shared my favorite vegetarian restaurants in another post, but today I wanted to focus on purely vegan places. Go vegan!

Carlos and Gilbert are the owners of this gastrobar in the edge of the Raval District. Their idea was to offer nice vegan food at decent prices. Little could they expect that only a few months after opening Happy Cow would place them among the top 3 vegan restaurants in the world.

Go there for brunch and don't miss their British platter. Or show up any time of the day to enjoy coffee and cake or muffins. Stay as long as you like, feeling like at home. You can even bring your pet - they have free treats for them!
